About Us

At Colledge Law, we focus on what matters most: planning for the future, guiding clients through important decisions, and protecting what they’ve worked hard to build. With deep experience in estate, probate, and business matters, we offer clear, steady support every step of the way.

Based in a historic house across the street from the Cherokee County Courthouse in downtown Canton, our firm is deeply rooted in the local legal community and committed to providing attentive, personalized service. We focus on estate and probate law, professional fiduciary services, business law, and select related matters. We serve individuals, families, and business owners throughout Georgia, with a particular focus on Cherokee County and the surrounding areas.

Our founding attorney, Rachel D. Colledge, was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, and graduated from Wheeler High School’s Magnet School of Math, Science & Technology. She earned dual undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Georgia before working as a legal assistant at a firm in Athens. Rachel then attended Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. During her time in law school, she served as a judicial intern in Superior Court and was active in student organizations including the Association of Women Lawyers and Phi Delta Phi. She also earned awards for Outstanding Achievement in Legal Writing, Commercial Transactions, and Comparative Law.

After earning her law degree, Rachel began her career in Canton as a staff attorney to Superior Court Judge David L. Cannon, Jr. There, she gained firsthand experience across a broad range of civil and criminal matters and developed a deep understanding of courtroom procedure and judicial decision-making. She then transitioned into private practice, where she represented clients in criminal defense, family law, and DFCS cases in Juvenile Court. Over time, her practice evolved to focus on estate planning, probate, adoptions, and business law, areas where she found both purpose and fulfillment.

In 2020, Rachel founded Colledge Law to provide her clients with a more personal, attentive experience. Her practice is rooted in her depth of knowledge and guided by a practical, client-first approach. Today, she serves as the County Administrator for Cherokee County, where she acts as fiduciary for numerous estates, guardianships, and conservatorships. In this role, she works closely with the Probate Court, providing our firm with valuable insight that benefit our clients in meaningful ways. Outside of her work with the firm, Rachel remains active in the North Georgia legal community. She served as Treasurer on the Executive Board of the Blue Ridge Bar Association and participated in the Law Day Committee for several years. She was also elected to the Board of Directors for her neighborhood homeowners association, where she helped revise governing documents and worked on complex negotiations with the Georgia Department of Transportation involving eminent domain issues.

Whether assisting with estate administration, helping families plan for the future, or advising business owners through each stage of their journey, Rachel and her team approach every case with care, competence, and commitment. As a specialized practice, we pride ourselves on being accessible and responsive. Our structure allows us to maintain strong client relationships, provide consistent communication, and craft legal strategies tailored to each client’s needs. We combine practical experience with a keen attention to detail, because in matters like these, the small things often matter most.
